Meet Francisco, who in his early twenties, had an eighth grade education, was married and expecting his first child. He was a farmer, like others in his family. But he had a dream. When the scholarship program was being set up, he volunteered to serve on the Nimasac scholarship committee and was chosen as president, with no thought about being able to receive one, especially as he was by then considered a mature student. However, we in the program gave scholarships to the committee members, who were delighted. Francisco first went back to school and got the equivalent of a GED, and then applied to go to vocational school. Watch his story:
