Guatemala Trip Info

in partnership with Cary Presbyterian Church Guatemala Missions

Thank you for your interest in making a trip to Guatemala with us.

With the pandemic waning, we are scheduling a trip to Guatemala July 26 through August 2, eight days, mid-week to mid-week, Tuesday through the following Tuesday. There are two travel days; the arrival trip has flights followed by a 4-hour van ride. The return trip goes from our base in Quetzaltenango to the lovely colonial town of Antigua, staying overnight there because it is only an hour from the airport.

Travelers must be fully vaccinated (and preferably, boosted) with a negative PCR test prior to boarding.

Accommodation is in a 3-star hotel in Quetzaltenango, the second largest city in Guatemala. There are restaurant breakfasts and dinners in the city with lunch in the village.

Occasionally, one other trip in the calendar year may be taken, depending upon the need. This can happen anytime between March and early October.

We go up the mountain daily to the village of Nimasac, the site of our work. There are a LOT of meetings about every aspect of the work currently in progress. Sometimes we have meetings in Xela with other partners, including NGOs (non-governmental organizations working in Guatemala), or staff.

We always have 1-2 translators traveling with us.

Please contact us via the contact form if you want to be updated. Trip costs are approximately $1,800, all inclusive, for eight days. This includes airfare, transportation, meals and hotels.
